Garret Ferrara, Neighbor

I live in Ward 1 near Davey Elementary School with my wife and two daughters. It is a great family friendly neighborhood with easy access to downtown, park areas, schools, playgrounds, and bike trails.  I have lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years. I grew up in Twin Lakes and have great memories of "Townie's vs Twin Laker's" rivalries in almost every athletic endeavor.  Now when asked, my wife tells everyone I am a "townie." She means it in the sense that I have lived in Kent my whole life.  While one can split hairs over Franklin Township and the City of Kent, I am proud to say I am a lifelong resident. I have been a member of City Council since 2000 and as a "life long" resident of Kent it is a rewarding way to give back to my home town. I have been an advocate of economic development and as a Kent State alumnus, I have made Kent State/Kent relations a top priority.  The ulitimate goal is to make Kent the best place it can be to live and raise a family.  I feel as if we have acheived alot of success and feel even more strongly that there is even more and better things to come.

My wife, who is a Certified Finacial Planner (CFP), and I work together at UBS Financial Services as financial advisors in Hudson.  We help clients design appropriate investment strategies and provide objective advice and outstanding service to help them reach their financial goals. I enjoy skiing, flying, golfing, travel, cooking, eating, and watching my kids grow and learn.
