ReplyHere Here Lisa! I hope we can find another place for the house too. Even though Lake Street would be more of a challenge with moving utility lines and such, maybe that is a real option.
Let's find a way to expand the interesting spaces in Kent and not shrink them. -

ReplyTina, I agree. Your questions should be clearly answered.
Like councilman John Kuhar said at the city meeting the other week: Where are the utilities that will actually get this house functioning? It seems you aren't the only one who sees the plan for moving this house as underdeveloped.
I am in no way a city planner, know next to nothing about buildings and understand there are bumps in any roapmap, but if respect is present in a relationship change is made through dialogue. As President of SRCA, Tina, are the Friends unwilling to answer your questions, unwilling to be transparent or are they still searching for their own answers?

ReplyAgreed. Robert will be missed. I will especially miss seeing his books and books of prints at the farmer's market. He was one of a kind.

Kudos to Mr. Sidoti in starting a conversation to find a solution that will protect the goals of both organizations.
I am curious of the reasons in the change of the site plan that will move the Wells Sherman house closer to the sidewalk. Doesn't this change block Edwin George's mural? I thought this was an issue KWSH was concerned about?
I would also like to hear more about the Franklin ave/W. College option. I thought this was previously unavailable. So many people go down there for the market, the Wells Sherman house could be one more Saturday stop and really add to that part of town. It seems to me that moving the house to a location that didn't cause such a controversy would garner more support and could lead to a richer, more thriving future for the Sherman House.
