Don Beckett, Neighbor

I was an extremely happy Kent Firefighter/Paramedic married to my wonderful bride of 29 years, Heidi, with two adult children, Christy and Ryan.  I had a very successful career of 20 years with the City of Kent Fire Department working towards a normal retirement age.  Most things at the home front were going extremely well, as I even remember telling myself one day last October how well everything was going with the family, finances, marriage and how happy I was!  Then one day in December 2010 the doctor told me I had esophageal cancer.  Our lives changed drastically.
