Two Kent Businesses Raided by Drug Task Force

Agents seized 'analog drugs' from Puff-N-Stuff and Midnight Oasis.

Following a month-long investigation, the Portage County Drug Task Force executed search warrants this week at three area businesses, including Puff-N-Stuff and Midnight Oasis in Kent, according to Portage County Sheriff David W. Doak. Task force agents, along with members of the sheriff’s office, Kent Police and Streetsboro Police, were searching for any chemical structurally similar to a controlled substance, also known as an analog drug. They are commonly referred to as Spice, K-2 and Bath Salts. The third business searched by the task force was Twilight Boutique in Streetsboro. Gun Robbery at Twilight Boutique Under Investigation

A white man, in his 20s, entered Twilight Boutique at 7:22 a.m. this morning and robbed the store at gunpoint, according to Kent police. This is the second time the boutique has been robbed this month. On Oct. 13, it was at knifepoint and the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. This time, the suspect sustained a head injury after being hit by an employee, police said. He left the store on foot and is still at large. Police would not comment on what the man stole. He is described as 5-foot 10-inches with a thin build wearing a red and white polo, blue jeans, glasses, red gloves and a dark mask. Knifepoint Robbery at Twilight Boutique Under Investigation

Man fled with undisclosed amount of cash

Kent Police are looking for the man who robbed the Twilight Boutique in University Plaza early Tuesday morning. Kent Police Lt. Bob Treharn said the suspect, described as having a thin build, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with curly hair, robbed the business at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. "He was armed with a knife," Treharn said. No one was injured, and the man fled from the store at 1466 S. Water St. with an undisclosed amount of cash from the business. Employees at Twilight Boutique and its corporate office declined to comment on the robbery. Treharn said the case remains under investigation.
