Kent State Running Back Suspended After Felony Accusation

Freshman Julian Durden's athletic successes may be negated by his off-the-field legal troubles.

A Kent State freshman running back has been indefinitely suspended from the Golden Flashes after being charged with felony theft and misdemeanor drug possession.  Julian Durden, 18, of McKees Rock, Pa., was charged with one felony count of receiving stolen property on Feb. 13 after he allegedly stole a woman’s debit card from her Korb Hall dorm room, reports the Akron Beacon Journal. Durden will appear in Portage County Municipal Court on Feb. 22 for a preliminary hearing. Additionally, Durden was found guilty of drug possession on Feb. 11 after Kent State University police caught him with a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the Korb Hall parking lot, according to online court records.
