Rep. Clyde to Speak at May Chamber Breakfast

Kent Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast set for May 10 at Pufferbelly

Kathleen Clyde, State Rep. for the 68th Ohio House District, will be the guest speaker at the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce's monthly breakfast on Thursday, May 10, at the Pufferbelly. Clyde spoke at a chamber breakfast last spring that set an attendance record at more than 90 people. Early reservations are encouraged as space is limited and are due no later than May 8. Networking begins at 7:30 a.m., with breakfast (a pre-set menu) at 8 a.m. followed by the program. Cost is $15 for KACC members; $20 for guests and potential members. Video: State Rep. Kathleen Clyde on SB5

Kent's representative in the Ohio House gave business owners a brief update on SB5 last week

State Rep. Kathleen Clyde, a Kent resident, talked with members of the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce during a breakfast meeting last week about a number of issues in Columbus, including the controversial Senate Bill 5. During the chamber breakfast, Clyde gave a brief update on the issue. Clyde issued the following brief statement shortly after the bill passed in March: "Senate Bill 5 eliminates statutory rights granted to middle class workers nearly 30 years ago, violates their constitutional rights, and does nothing to create jobs," Clyde said.  "In fact, it virtually guarantees further job losses. The mandate is that in every sector of state government the actual power of government was removed from Democratic/Progressive hands. Absolutely.
