Meth Charge for Akron Man on West Elm

All information is according to Kent Police and Portage County court records. Arrest information does not indicate conviction.

An Akron man has been charged with multiple felonies, including making meth, on West Elm Street — a few blocks from Holden Elementary. Raymond A. Warner, 29, of Akron, OH, was charged with illegal manufacture of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony, and the illegal possession or assembly of chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine, a third-degree felony, on April 1 by Kent Police. The meth lab was located at 121 W. Elm St., according to Portage County court records. Police say Warner had the following ingredients for meth when he was arrested: muriatic acid; lithium batteries; aluminum foil; shop towels; Roebic crystal drain opener; and 20 pseudoephedrine hydrochloride tablets. Kent Man Hit With Felony Meth Charges

Four people arrested on Feb. 10 face several drug-related charges.

An early morning trip to the Cuyahoga Falls Walgreen's ended badly for four people after they were seen purchasing items that can be used to produce methamphetamine. On Feb. 10 at 12:43 a.m., an officer from the Cuyahoga Falls Police K-9 Unit pulled over two members of the group -- Cliff J. Cundiff, 29, of Akron, and Richelle L. Brown, 33, of Cuyahoga Falls -- as they left the State Road drug store.  The officer found methamphetamine, a glass pipe allegedly used to smoke the drug and "Wal-Phed," an over-the-counter medicine that can double as a meth ingredient, according to the Cuyahoga Falls police report.  Once the pair was in custody, police arrested the other two suspects -- Brandon T. Dennis Haworth charged by drug task force with making methamphetamine near a school

A Kent man has been charged with making methamphetamine near a school by the Portage County Drug Task Force. Dennis Haworth, 43, of 525 Park Ave., was arrested Friday by the task force on charges of illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, a first-degree felony, according to the Portage County Sheriff's Office. Haworth was arrested in Ravenna, OH along with Christina Guy, 36, who also is a Ravenna resident, at 115 N. Scranton St., Ravenna, where the manufacturing took place, according to the sheriff's office. Drug task force agents arrested Haworth as part of a four-month investigation into Guy's actions that culminated with a warrant for her arrest for “Prohibition Concerning the Purchasing of Pseudoephedrine,” an ingredient in …

Stow Man Gets Jail Time for Making Meth Near Kent School

Joshua B. Tipton of Stow was sentenced to the mandatory prison time.

Joshua B. Tipton, 27, of Stow, was sentenced to six years in prison and to pay a $10,000 fine after being found guilty of making methamphetamines near a Kent school this winter.  "Your honor, I maintain I’m innocent of these charges other than being in the paddy wagon,” Tipton was reported saying in a Record Courier story. “I’m innocent, sir.”  Read more about the two-day trial, like how Tipton plans to appeal the decision,  in the full Record Courier story.  Lori L. Stow Woman Arrested on Meth-Making Charges near Kent School

Two others arrested on unrelated charges

A Stow woman is facing a charge of making methamphetamine in a Kent house less than two blocks from Holden Elementary School. Lori L. Claeys, 37, of 2412 Echo Valley Drive, Stow, was being held in the Portage County jail Thursday after being arrested for making meth in Kent's South End. Claeys was arrested Wednesday at 319 W. Elm St. after a joint investigation by the Kent Police Department, Ravenna Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Youngstown Task Force. She is charged with one count of illegal manufacture of methamphetamine, a first-degree felony, in the vicinity of a school. Kent Police Lt. Police Find Portable Meth Lab During Attempted Burglary Pursuit

What started out as a call about an attempted burglary turned out to be a discovery of drugs and materials to make methamphetamines in a bookbag police say belongs to a man who had a warrant out in Kent. Stow Police responded to a call of an attempted burglary at 2359 Graham Rd. Thursday evening around 11:30 p.m. Someone attempted to force entry through the front door of the residence, according to police. The resident told officers the man left wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt. A K9 unit initiated a track and found a man wearing a red track jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt just a few homes away at 2376 Graham Rd., police said.
