Pufferbelly Roof Repair Means Lane, Parking Closures on Franklin

Closures scheduled for Tuesday with rain day for Wednesday

Drivers will find intermittent parking and lane closures on Franklin Avenue near the Pufferbelly restaurant today due to repair work on the former railroad depot. City officials permitted the closure of several parking spaces on Franklin Avenue and the closure of the southbound lane in front of the restaurant while roof repairs are under way at the building. The southbound lane will be closed by the business' contractor as needed, and when the lane is closed the on-street parking spaces on the eastern side of the roadway in front of the Pufferbelly will be closed. Parking spaces on-street and immediately north of the Pufferbelly also will be closed. The work is expected to take place today with a rain date set for Wednesday.

Willow Closed Again for Utility work near Kent State

Road closure related to Esplanade expansion

A portion of South Willow Street will remain closed this week near Kent State University. The section of road between East Main Street and East College Avenue is closed for underground utility disconnection work, which is related to the Esplanade expansion. The road will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

South Lincoln to Close Thursday

Work for utilities to close street near Kent State campus

South Lincoln Street will be closed today and Friday between East Main Street and East College Avenue. The road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Access to the parking lot for Kent State University's Museum will be maintained, as will local traffic.

East Main Lane Closure for Courthouse Work

Closure scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday

The westbound lane of East Main Street will close to traffic today and Thursday for construction work related to the new Kent courthouse. The lane will be closed between Willow and DePeyster streets from 2 a.m to 5 p.m. today and from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. Flaggers will be used to maintain traffic.

Two westbound lanes of Haymaker Parkway will be closed today between Willow and South Water sreets between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions.

Lane Closures on South Water Downtown Today

Pavement work will create intermittent closures Tuesday, Wednesday

Portions of South Water Street will be closed downtown today and Wednesday to allow for pavement repairs. Between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. lane restrictions will take place on the section of street between Haymaker Parkway and Erie Street. No parking will be allowed on this section of South Water Street during this period. All lanes and parking will reopen each day after 3:30 p.m. The area will be marked and staffed by flaggers, but drivers should avoid the area or expect delays.

The eastbound curb lane of Haymaker Parkway will close starting Tuesday for concrete repair work. The lane will be closed between Willow Street and South DePeyster Street until Friday. Two-way traffic will be maintained.

The southbound, western lane of South Water Street will close starting Wednesday for curb work related to the new CVS building. The lane closures are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily in the area of 500 S. Water St. Traffic flaggers will maintain traffic.

Summit to Close Tuesday for University Project

Work on Student Green will close one lane of Summit Street near West Campus Center

One lane of Summit Street is expected to close today near West Campus Center Drive for work on Kent State University's Student Green project. The lane will be closed for work on the traffic light at the intersection. The project to extend the university's Risman Plaza south to Summit Street will result in the elimination of the eastern-most entrance of Campus Center Drive. The work and lane closure on Summit Street is expected to last only through Tuesday. One lane of traffic will be maintained.

Haymaker Lane to Close for Downtown Construction

Starting May 10 one of the parkway's 5 lanes will be closed

Yet another construction street closure is coming to downtown Kent. This time it will be one of downtown's busiest streets. One lane of Haymaker Parkway will close for several months starting Thursday in order to give construction contractors some staging room for work on the new hotel and transit center downtown. The westbound curb lane of Haymaker Parkway will close between Willow and South Water streets starting Thursday. The lane closure is expected to last through November. On average, 11,940 cars drive on that section of Haymaker Parkway daily, according to 2007 AMATS traffic data.
