Kent area residents with spare time to relax have a nice assortment of events to pick from this weekend. It's all close to home and inexpensive, too. A couple of events are even free. The 26th Annual Jawbone Poetry Festival returns to Kent and musical legends perform throughout the area

An array of big-name musical choices await you this weekend. Grammy winning music icon Judy Collins brings over 50 years experience to her show tonight at the Kent Stage, and Northeast Ohio's own legend Alex Bevan performs at the Water Street Tavern. The annual Tri-C JazzFest presents the highly talented Medeski, Martin & Wood in Cleveland tonight, Motown Records legend Smokey Robinson on Saturday and options for other shows and workshops, including some for free. Aspiring actors perform in new campus theater and Sonny Geraci brings his hits to The Kent Stage

Watch talented student thespians at Kent State dedicate a new black-box campus theater today, or see models showcase student fashion designs made from roofing shingles in this week's edition of "Get Out." Or, you can listen to 1960s icon Sonny Geraci perform some of his classics and help him raise money at The Kent Stage. The Water Street Tavern in Kent continues its fine live performance showcase with an appearance by The Robert Lockwood Jr. All-Star Band.
