Blotter: Kent Man Charged with Skipping on Bar Tab

Booze Theft A Kent man has been accused of skipping out on a rather large bar tab at one of downtown Kent's taverns. Kent Police arrested Jordan Alexander, 21, of 421 N. Water St. earlier this month on charges he ran up a $75 bar tab at Water Street Tavern and did not pay it. Alexander was arrested at the bar just before 11 p.m. Aug. 5 and pleaded not guilty to the theft charge, a first-degree misdemeanor, in Portage County Municipal Court on Aug. 6. Alexander told police he works in a phone call center at Kent State University. Random Vandalism Three businesses spread throughout Kent were hit by vandals this month.
