Closures scheduled for Tuesday with rain day for Wednesday
Drivers will find intermittent parking and lane closures on Franklin Avenue near the Pufferbelly restaurant today due to repair work on the former railroad depot. City officials permitted the closure of several parking spaces on Franklin Avenue and the closure of the southbound lane in front of the restaurant while roof repairs are under way at the building. The southbound lane will be closed by the business' contractor as needed, and when the lane is closed the on-street parking spaces on the eastern side of the roadway in front of the Pufferbelly will be closed. Parking spaces on-street and immediately north of the Pufferbelly also will be closed. The work is expected to take place today with a rain date set for Wednesday.

SIGHT of Ohio will lead exploration of haunted Kent buildings Saturday night
Ghost hunters both professional and just the curious return to the Kent Stage tonight for a late night of normal-paranormal activity. The Spiritual Insight Ghost Hunting Team of Ohio (SIGHT) will lead the annual progressive ghost hunt from 9 p.m. tonight to 3 a.m. Sunday morning at the theater. Laura Lyn, a psychic medium who leads investigations with SIGHT, said the two Kent buildings that are the focus of tonight's hunt — the Pufferbelly restaurant and the stage are full of spiritual energy. Local winners are entered for a shot at the regional prize: a trip to Great Wolf Lodge
Four-year-old Patrick Barkley isn't just a fan of the Kent State Golden Flashes men's basketball team. He's a crucial link in their winning ways. Patrick's mom, Barbara Barkley, won our Littlest Fan Contest with her photo submission of Patrick sweeping the court during a Flashes home game at the MACC. Thanks to Patrick, the court was free of sweat and debris! The family won a $50 gift certificate to the Pufferbelly, and they will compete against other Ohio Patch site contest winners for a weekend for four at Great Wolf Lodge. Thanks to everyone who submitted photos to our contest!

Win a weekend for 4 at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky.
Is your little one a Little Fan with big team spirit? You know: The daughter who loves to get decked out in Kent State Golden Flashes colors. Or the son who's the rowdiest spectator at the Rough Riders game. We're inviting you to share your children's (ages 12 and under) best display of team spirit on Patch! Show off your kids in their baddest team logo clothes or their most colorful game day face paint. Is your child's bedroom decorated entirely in team colors? Or maybe you have a great game photo of your kids cheering on the home team. The team, sport or professional/amateur status doesn't matter: It could be the Heights High Tigers football squad or the Avon Eagles girls' golf team. All we want to see is your child's love for sports …
