Political Science Fair for Ohio House Candidates Clyde, Skeriotis

Kent State University Political Science Club hosting forum Friday at 2 p.m.

The Kent State University Political Science Club will host a Political Science Fair and Forum for candidates of the 75th Ohio House District on Friday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. The Political Science Fair, taking place in the Kent Student Center Ballroom, will welcome incoming and returning students with the opportunity to meet students, faculty and staff from the Department of Political Science, as well as political candidates from Portage County and surrounding areas. The Political Science Fair is an initiative organized by the Kent State University Political Science Club, the Kent State Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha Honorary, and the Department of Political Science at Kent State. District 75 Race set for November

Democrat State Rep. Kathleen Clyde to face Republican challenger Nick Skeriotis

Two unopposed major-party candidates in Tuesday's primary election will face each other for the Ohio House District 75 seat in November. State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) will face Republican Nick Skeriotis of Suffield. Both ran unopposed for their party's nomination Tuesday and each received 100 percent of the vote for their party ticket. Clyde received 6,170 votes Tuesday according to final but unofficial election results from the Portage County Board of Elections. Skeriotis received 5,634 votes. In November, Clyde will run her first re-election campaign in Ohio House District 75 instead of the District 68 seat she was elected to, as redistricting recently divided Portage County into Ohio House Districts 75 and 76. Kent Voters To See Ohio House District 75 Race on March 6 Ballot

Kathleen Clyde of Kent vying to keep seat on Democratic ticket; Nick Skeriotis of Suffield challenging her on Republican ticket.

Due to Ohio's recent redistricting, State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) is running her first re-election campaign in Ohio House District 75 instead of the District 68 seat she was elected to. Redistricting has Portage County divided into Ohio House Districts 75 and 76. Kent is part of District 75, which also includes Atwater, Brady Lake, Brimfield, Charlestown, Deerfield, Edinburg, Franklin Township, Mogadore, Palmyra, Paris, Randolph, Ravenna City and Township, Rootstown, Streetsboro, Suffield, Sugar Bush Knolls and Tallmadge.
