Meth Charge for Akron Man on West Elm

All information is according to Kent Police and Portage County court records. Arrest information does not indicate conviction.

An Akron man has been charged with multiple felonies, including making meth, on West Elm Street — a few blocks from Holden Elementary. Raymond A. Warner, 29, of Akron, OH, was charged with illegal manufacture of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony, and the illegal possession or assembly of chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine, a third-degree felony, on April 1 by Kent Police. The meth lab was located at 121 W. Elm St., according to Portage County court records. Police say Warner had the following ingredients for meth when he was arrested: muriatic acid; lithium batteries; aluminum foil; shop towels; Roebic crystal drain opener; and 20 pseudoephedrine hydrochloride tablets. Kentite Charged in Meth Lab Bust

The Portage County Drug Task Force busted a methamphetamine lab in Franklin Township

A Kent man is facing charges of making meth along with two other Portage County residents after members of the Portage County Drug Task Force broke up a lab in Franklin Township Tuesday. The drug task force charged Robert J. Akers, of 6395 West Shore Drive, with illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony, after agents discovered a lab at his residence. Acting on a tip, task force agents spent two days investigating the lab before obtaining a warrant to enter the residence, where officers found four people making meth, the remnants of an active lab and finished product in the attic of the residence. Kentites Busted for Meth Lab on Munroe Falls-Kent Road

All information is according to the Portage County Drug Task Force

Three Kent residents are in jail this morning following charges they were cooking methamphetamine in a Munroe Falls Kent Road address. The Portage County Drug Task Force arrested Trisha C. Towns, 28, Adam W. Thompson, 34, and Curtis P Whitmire, 30, all of 1248 Munroe Falls-Kent Road, on charges of cooking meth at the address. The task force received several tips that meth was being manufactured at the residence, and agents obtained and executed a search warrant Thursday night at the house, according to a press release. Agents found chemicals, glassware, methamphetamine and other elements used in making the drug. Officers also found a loaded handgun and a "sophisticated surveillance system monitoring the entire perimeter of the residence," …

County Drug Task Force arrests 5 in Franklin Township

Editor's note: this story originally included the incorrect address of the location of the methamphetamine lab. Incorrect information was provided by authorities. Four Kent-area residents were among those arrested by the Portage County Drug Task Force on charges of operating a meth lab in Franklin Township just east of Kent. Task force agents uncovered the lab at 6490 Cherry Lane in the Village of Brady Lake, which is slightly north and east of Kent. Officers arrested: Michael D. Two Kentites Among Six Adults Arrested in Brimfield Meth-Lab Raid

Two Kent residents were among six adults arrested Friday when the Portage County Drug Task Force busted an operational meth lab at a Brimfield home. Charges are pending against one of the five juveniles present at the house during the raid. The raid was the result of a month-long investigation into the illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine at the 4396 Edson Road house, Portage County Sheriff David Doak stated Monday in a press release. Doak said task force members prepared a search warrant to look for evidence of items used in the manufacturing of meth. I have yet to see an article anywhere saying that only 4 of those six were charged. that two of them were unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time. A lesson learned Im sure. That one needs to be printed sirs because all of these months later this picture and this article is associated with the ones not charged when they are googled and I believe its a shame. Police Find Portable Meth Lab During Attempted Burglary Pursuit

What started out as a call about an attempted burglary turned out to be a discovery of drugs and materials to make methamphetamines in a bookbag police say belongs to a man who had a warrant out in Kent. Stow Police responded to a call of an attempted burglary at 2359 Graham Rd. Thursday evening around 11:30 p.m. Someone attempted to force entry through the front door of the residence, according to police. The resident told officers the man left wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt. A K9 unit initiated a track and found a man wearing a red track jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt just a few homes away at 2376 Graham Rd., police said.
