Home Savings Bank Plaza Offers Summer Music and More

New Thursday Night Live series continues tonight

It’s a warm summer evening in downtown Kent. A small crowd is gathered at the Home Savings Bank plaza to listen to the Lazy Dogs, a bluesy rock band with an alternative bent. An interesting mix of people are spread out on the plaza – the band’s inner circle and girlfriends, older folks who brought lawn chairs, curious on-lookers and general music fans. The concert is one of the first in the new Thursday Night Live series, sponsored by Main Street Kent. 'Thursday Night Live' Music Series Starts

Main Street Kent sponsors live music downtown each Thursday through September

Thursday night marked the start of a brand new live music series that's bringing acts to downtown Kent. Main Street Kent's new "Thursday Night Live" music series brings local music talent to Home Savings Plaza in downtown Kent every Thursday through August and September. Vince Monteleone started the series at 7 p.m. and played until 9. The reason for the new music series is "to encourage residents from Kent and the surrounding areas to come downtown to explore all Kent has to offer: unique shops, great eateries and pubs, and now more live music than ever," according to Main Street Kent.
