Painting Starts at Franklin Elementary School

200 gallons of paint donated to school through Glidden Colorful Classrooms Contest

Franklin School Misses Big Paint Prize

Kent elementary school finishes among 5 semi-finalists in free paint makeover from Glidden

Franklin Elementary School missed the big prize in Glidden Paint's Colorful Classrooms Contest. But the sole semifinalist from Ohio will get a consolation prize: 200 gallons of free paint. Glidden announced Monday that Jefferson Elementary in Gallup, NM, won the Colorful Classrooms Contest. "Since all of the finalists did a fantastic job rallying the support of their communities, all of the schools are going to receive 200 gallons of quality Glidden paint to brighten up their classrooms," a Glidden spokesperson posted on the company's Facebook page. The winner received the free paint plus paid labor to apply it and a community party courtesy Glidden. Final vote tallies weren't available Monday, but Franklin School earned more than 10,000 …

Franklin School Trails in Glidden Paint Contest

Kent elementary school in third place in paint makeover contest; voting ends Friday

Franklin Elementary School is trailing in a national contest for a paint makeover of the school after leading earlier this month. The school is one of five finalists Glidden Paint selected out of several hundred nominations for Glidden's "Colorful Classrooms Contest." Glidden received more than 320 nominations from schools in 43 states. Franklin was in third place as of Tuesday morning and was trailing schools in New Mexico and Mississippi. The school has received more than 10,000 votes so far. Online voting ends Friday. If Franklin Elementary wins, the school could get up to 200 gallons of paint applied to walls inside the building completely free of charge. Click here to cast your vote.

Kent parents have until Oct. 26 to vote for Franklin Elementary School to receive a paint makeover courtesy of Glidden. The school is one of five finalists Glidden Paint selected out of several hundred nominations for Glidden's "Colorful Classrooms Contest." Glidden received more than 320 nominations from schools in 43 states. If Franklin Elementary wins, the school could get up to 200 gallons of paint applied to walls inside the building completely free of charge. As of 2 p.m. Tuesday the school was leading the voting with 33.21 percent of votes. Click here to cast your vote.

Glidden Paint selected the Kent elementary school out of several hundred nominations to be in its top five for Glidden's "Colorful Classrooms Contest." Voting starts online Monday. Nominate a Kent School for a Makeover

Glidden's “Colorful Classrooms Contest" is accepting nominations through Friday, Sept. 28

Have you ever thought one of the Kent City Schools could use a little face lift? Now you have a chance to make it happen.  Through its “Colorful Classrooms Contest,” Glidden is looking to make the lives of some lucky elementary school students a lot more colorful. Any public, private or charter elementary school can be nominated for the opportunity to be repainted and refreshed with Glidden paint. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, Sept. 28.
