Garage raided More than $1,600 in tools and vehicle equipment was reported stolen from a home in the 600 block of Emich Drive March 2. The owners reported the following stolen: a 100,000 BTU torpedo heater; two acetylene torches, two Homelite 14-inch chainsaws; four ATV tires, an ATV exhaust system and an ATV winch; a Stihl 16-inch chainsaw; a black trailer and a Stihl backpack leaf blower. Electronics stolen More than $1,000 worth of electronics were reported stolen from a house in the 900 block of Simon Lane Feb 29. The victims reported stolen: a black Dell 17-inch laptop, a black Sharpe 22-inch TV and a black Vizio 26-inch TV. The electronics were valued at $1,200. Arsonist strikes Kent park An arsonist set fire to a wooden bench and trail kiosk near Edgewater Circle July 31. The Kent Parks and Recreation Department reported the fire, which damaged a wooden bench about 4 feet long and a wooden kiosk about 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide. The damage was estimated at a total of $600. It's not the first piece of park property to fall victim to vandals. Earlier this summer, Vandals Cut Down Trees at Plum Creek Park.
