Police Blotter: Garage Equipment, Electronics Stolen

The following arrest information was provided by the Kent Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

Garage raided More than $1,600 in tools and vehicle equipment was reported stolen from a home in the 600 block of Emich Drive March 2.  The owners reported the following stolen: a 100,000 BTU torpedo heater; two acetylene torches, two Homelite 14-inch chainsaws; four ATV tires, an ATV exhaust system and an ATV winch; a Stihl 16-inch chainsaw; a black trailer and a Stihl backpack leaf blower. Electronics stolen More than $1,000 worth of electronics were reported stolen from a house in the 900 block of Simon Lane Feb 29. The victims reported stolen: a black Dell 17-inch laptop, a black Sharpe 22-inch TV and a black Vizio 26-inch TV. The electronics were valued at $1,200. Police Blotter: Arsonist Hits Park, More Electronics Thefts

The following arrest information was provided by the Kent Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

Arsonist strikes Kent park An arsonist set fire to a wooden bench and trail kiosk near Edgewater Circle July 31. The Kent Parks and Recreation Department reported the fire, which damaged a wooden bench about 4 feet long and a wooden kiosk about 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide. The damage was estimated at a total of $600. It's not the first piece of park property to fall victim to vandals. Earlier this summer, Vandals Cut Down Trees at Plum Creek Park. Thieves hot for electronics Electronic devices continue to be a popular target for thieves in Kent.
