Get $33 Dinners at Bistro on Main and More

Cleveland Independents Restaurant Week starts Monday at tasty spots all over Kent and Northeast Ohio

Dozens of restaurants all over the area will offer $33 prix fixe dinners beginning Monday for Cleveland Independents Restaurant Week. Kent restaurant Bistro on Main will offer the three-course prix fixe meals March 4 to 16: Click here to see all the full list of restaurants, their prix fixe menus or to make reservations. The week begins on the tail end of Downtown Cleveland's Restaurant Week, which ends Sunday.

There’s no need to leave the Kent city limits to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the style you prefer – whether that style is formal, bar-casual, concert-oriented or playful. Here’s a sampling of New Year’s Eve events in the Tree City: Bistro on Main – A free champagne toast and party favors at midnight await Bistro guests. The restaurant’s New Year’s Eve Bash includes the musical duo of Peggy Coyle and Brad Bolton performing from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the bar area. Drink specials for the evening include the champagne cocktail and candy cane martini. Dinner specials, offered from 4 to 11 p.m., include roasted beef tenderloin surf and turf, scallops/blood orange ceviche, black grouper with citrus buerre blanc and a cowboy chop (steak) for two. …

Car Hits Bistro on Main; Restaurant Closed Temporarily

Kent woman charged with drunken driving after hitting side of building

A Kent woman has been charged with drunken driving after crashing her SUV into the side of a popular restaurant Tuesday afternoon. Cindy Vair, 52, of 5098 Sherman Wood Drive, drove her 2004 Toyota 4Runner into the side of Bistro on Main shortly after noon Tuesday. Kent Police Lt. Jim Prusha said Vair was arrested and charged with drunken driving, or operating a vehicle while intoxicated, which is a first-degree misdemeanor. She also was charged with reckless operation. He said it was a low-speed accident that happened after Vair had pulled into the parking lot. "My understanding is she was going to that business to eat and didn’t stop in time," Prusha said. "It did cause some damage to the car and to the building." Prusha said Vair was not…
