Homeless Man Arrested at Kent State Library

Judge orders man to stay off campus property

A homeless man was arrested at the Kent State University Library and charged with disorderly conduct, a minor misdemeanor. Kent State Police arrested Christopher K. Bunsey, 50, Nov. 14 at about 11:30 p.m. on charges he was drunk and posed a threat to himself or others in the library. Bunsey had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and difficulty walking at the time of his arrest, according to Portage County court records. Bunsey was arraigned on the charge Friday and pleaded guilty to Portage County Municipal Court Judge Barb Oswick. Oswick sentenced Bunsey the same day and ordered him to pay a $50 fine plus court costs. He also was ordered to stay off Kent State property.

Naked Kent Woman Leads Police on Chase to Bedford

The following information was supplied by Kent and Stow police departments.

A Kent woman took police officers from Stow, Kent and Macedonia on a chase after police say she threatened to harm her child and another relative. When officers stopped the 2002 silver Grand Prix to arrest the woman in Bedford on May 10, she was naked, Stow police Lt. Anne Stirm said. Kent police Capt. Paul Canfield said the woman had left the Silver Meadows Complex in Kent and headed toward Stow after threatening to do harm to members of her family.  "We put out an alert saying, 'Be on the lookout' to other agencies in the area," Canfield said. "She happened to speed by a couple of Stow officers parked somewhere along Graham Road."  Stirm said three Stow police cars joined the chase, which headed toward Macedonia on state Route 8 at …

Jarekious D. Bradley charged in altercation with ex-girlfriend

A member of the Kent State University men's basketball team faces charges of burglary and criminal damaging after an early morning altercation Wednesday with his ex-girlfriend. Jarekious D. Bradley, 20, of Memphis, TN, has been charged with one count of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, and one count of criminal damaging, a second-degree misdemeanor, after barging in to his ex-girlfriend's apartment early Wednesday morning, according to the Portage County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office received a call from Bradley's ex-girlfriend, who authorities did not identify, claiming Bradley forced his way into her apartment and demanded money he said she owed him.
