Kent christened its first ever dedicated skate park in August of 2010 when Stonewater Skate Park opened to the city's…More skateboarding community. The park is considered to be "skate at your own risk," and users are advised to follow the posted recommendations regarding safety gear and unsafe weather conditions. Designed and built by Missouri-based American Ramp Co., the park is a plaza-style concrete skating area. It includes a small open skating area with multiple obstacles such as stairs, a grind rail, tabletop, quarter-pipe ramp and multiple elevation changes.
The park cost $89,765 to build. It is located on Stonewater Drive at the southern end of the Lakes of Franklin Mills housing development.
