Kent Public Service Department 930 Overholt Rd, Kent, OH44240 The Kent Public Service Department oversees the functions of several of the city's critical services, including water…More reclamation, water treatment, engineering, vehicle maintenance and the city's central maintenance (road and infrastructure crews) operations. The department ensures that the city's infrastructure such as streets, sewer and water lines are maintained. By nature, the service department has garages and offices spread throughout the city. The primary contact point for residents and the front office operations are located at the Overholt Road complex, though the department also has several employee-only buildings at Plum Creek Park. The service director's office is located on the second floor of the Service Administration Complex on Overholt Road and shares the same main lobby with the Kent Community Development Department.
Kent residents filing their city income tax or paying a water or sewer bill will likely end up in the budget and…More finance department at some point during their time in Kent.
The utility billing division of the finance department is the contact point for establishing water service and a water billing account in the city. The income tax division provides income tax filing forms for both residents and businesses within the city and it's two JEDDs.
A quick left through the north building in the South DePeyster Street city hall complex leads into the small lobby of the finance department, which is lined with plaques from the Ohio Auditor's Office recognizing Kent for more than 20 years of clean financial audits. The department's clerks can help residents file tax forms during tax season.
Kent State University Student Recreation and Wellness Center 1550 Ted Boyd Drive, Kent, OH44240 The Student Recreation and Wellness Center at Kent State University has open membership available to members of the…More community. The massive facility features the latest in top-of-the-line exercise equipment, including a full complement of aerobic exercise machines, a complete weight room, lap and leisure pools, a running track, indoor soccer field, racquetball courts and several college-regulation basketball courts. Countless windows flood the three-level facility with natural light. Parking is available either by purchasing a daily permit at a vending machine or by buying a semester permit through the university's parking services department.
Sully's Tavern - sometimes called "Sully's Frosted Mug" - is probably a…More good place to visit if you want cold beer, served at a table or a bar, and to be left alone.
Serving a mature crowd (no college students here) and offering a mostly-domestic line of beers (and the occasional cocktail, but no fancy shooters) Sully's is no-nonsense. Inside, wooden accents and businesslike service is what customers get. A pool table gets fairly regular use.
Just west of SR 43 in Brimfield, Sully's permits customers to bring in their own food, but few do - it's primarily a drinking establishment, and the regulars (of which there are many) seem content with that.
It's worth noting that while Sully's Tavern is in the business of serving alcohol, it's not a good place to drive away from if you've had too many - the Brimfield Police Department is Sully's next-door neighbor.
