Or maybe keeping our children and ourselves less available to those that wish to do harm is payingRead More off! It is a different world, and roaming free is not an option we often have, at least safely.

re: " I was willing to let my 8-year old go, but my friend wouldn’t let her child, threeRead More years older, do it." Were you only willing to let YOUR child go if the 11 yr. old went? lol And what was the plan if your view from the 6th floor window was seeing your child dragged off into a waiting car? Was the 11 yr. old going to save the 8 yr. old. Good points Stanley and Stephen.

I thought the river was closed to paddlers because of the kramer bridge?
Matt Fredmonsky October 4, 2013 at 08:19 am
Donald, the stretch of the river from Tannery Park just downstream of the bridge construction isRead More closed. Boaters are encouraged to put in at Middlebury Road, which is I believe where these trips start (they just meet at Tannery Park).
Dave Herpy October 4, 2013 at 09:27 am
Correct, Matt. We will begin be meeting at Tannery Park, then shuttle everyone downriver to theRead More Middlebury Road ramp and put in after we complete the necessary forms and watch our safety video. However, our trips on both Friday and Saturday are completely full and unfortunately we cannot accommodate any additional participants due to equipment and transportation availability.
