Who doesnt hold the hand of a 2 year old in a parking lot? What were the otherRead More "passengers" doing? I know that we held our children's hands until they were in their teens because young children dont understand the danger. Sad and totally preventable.

So sad, My heart goes out to these folks. You can not watch children 24x7. A parking lot is aRead More dangerous place for children. A lesson to all of us. I hope these poor folks do not have to pay the extra cost for EMS services in Franklin Township. This would be an insult on top of a terrible accident.

Our incompetent Department of State looks upon us as being too stupid to know that there are peopleRead More in that part of the world who get their rocks off blowing up infidels. I guess they do, anyway. A bunch of them get together and shoot their uzis in the air when they hear about it. Interesting that people who would rather see me dead rather than alive are allowed to have uzis and I am not. Hmmm... Oh, I forgot. The Homeland Security guy in Ravenna keeps me safe...

Actually, I suspect a lot of people wouldn't stop to think that the International Olympic CommitteeRead More would be crazy [or corrupt] enough to award the games to such a potentially dangerous place...I'd much rather have State error on the side of caution and put this warning out

you left out that 2013 had the least number of cop deaths by guns since 1876. Every year policeRead More shoot outs have gone down. 100 stories? that would be a gun shoot out evey 3 days. you kinda stretch the truth a bit

If offender's were white this would be national news we would hear from Jesse Jackson Al SharptonRead More and all the racist organizations that they representI wonder if the president would say his son would look like those perpetrators

Robbing peter to pay Paul. Like taxing people ti pay for a police station, a delux apartment in theRead More sky. Robbing peter to pay Paul is great if you are Paul.

Golda obviously wouldn't agree to have me stay home because there was no curfew placed on men.Read More Would you have me stay home, Ms. Fo Ferry? I ask this because I don't see the point of your comment unless you feel that men in general cannot be trusted to be out and about.
Chris (Kit) Myers September 18, 2013 at 11:31 am
Stalking you? That is a very serious accusation, Ms. Fo Ferry, and is not one I take lightly.Read More This is a public forum and I would like an immediate retraction from you. Should you not do so I will be forced to take legal action.
Chris (Kit) Myers September 18, 2013 at 08:19 pm
Ms. Fo Ferry, if you don't retract your public accusation that I am stalking you, please be advisedRead More that I am going to talk to the prosecutor about it. I don't think you realize the seriousness of your action and how it can impact my life. How would you like to be falsely accused by someone of stalking them.

The government of the United States considers eighteen-year-olds mature and responsible enough toRead More vote for the President of the United States. Yet the City of Kent does not consider them mature and old enough to, without city health department inspection and licensing intervention, choose a place to live with two or more of their peers. I find that to be nothing short of outrageous and discriminatory against them. If the City is really concerned about citizen health and safety, why aren't ALL residences inspected and licensed? And why should I or anyone else be licensed when according to a member of a city commission there are illegal rooming houses in Kent. Why aren't they shut down? Can anyone answer that?

There were two in the Belden Village area last night. (Whipple and on Dressler) I was driving intoRead More the area and both were holding up northbound traffic. I knew I'd have to head north eventually and didn't want to go through that. I went up Dressler to Fulton and then went around on Frank (which runs right near the Kent/Stark campus)--no checkpoint there! It was a Wednesday evening around 6:30 pm! When I was in college nothing started until after 10! What a mess and a waste of everyone's time!

Isn't it a bit ironic that Chris Mallin is the ad sponsor? He works hard to get worthless drunkRead More drivers back on the road so they can ruin their lives and the lives of their families once more! Thanks Chris!

Just spoofing a bit, Mary. Do you remember the three successful Roosevelt graduates that got aRead More variance that was completely contrary to ordinance. It was quickly overturned. Then there is the commenter that feels that an out-of-towner is more of a threat to the community by owning a tattoo shop than a local person would be. Hartville? Because that's one of the places where those of us who think that Kent is getting too alcohol friendly are told to move when we express our opinions on the matter. Cheers, Mary. And watch out for them outside agitators. They are everywhere!

Names of underage drinkers and those driving under the influence have always been published in localRead More news papers. It's not private information. It's a matter of public record. This technique is a method of shaming the violator. The idea being if you don't want people to know you broke the law, you shouldn't break the law. Ages and places of origin are published as data that shows a trend. These trends are relevant to the subject of underage drinking in a college town.
