Opened in 2005, Heritage Park evolved from the reconstruction of the Cuyahoga River lock abutting the old stone arch dam and the redirection of the river around both the dam and lock.

The park is located beneath the Main Street Bridge in downtown Kent on the west bank of the Cuyahoga River and is one of the city's most popular parks.

Large, flat stones offer a natural feel to water access, and several points allow for fishing and kayaking access. A seasonal waterfall flows over the historic dam, and two stairwells allow for access to the park from the Main Street Bridge spanning the river.
