Kent's Health Department handles a variety of duties from restaurant and rental property inspection to managing the city's mosquito population.

The health department is located in the northern-most building in the city hall complex on South DePeyster St. A wall of windows lined with cushioned waiting chairs separates the department from the council chambers and finance department located in the building.

The health department also handles the licensing procedure for vending machines, public swimming pools and sanitation vehicles in Kent. The department also tracks birth and death certificates and provides limited health assistance to the city's indigent residents.
