Unassuming Euro Gyro has sat quietly on Depeyster Street around the corner from Main since 1979. Thanks to its later hours, night owls congregate for pizza and Greek food.

Chicken hogies, wings and jo-jos all have their fans among Euro Gyro's customers, but the gyros are the restaurant's namesake item.

Call at least an hour ahead if you plan to feed a crowd. Delivery charge of $1.50 applies to each order. In addition to food items, Euro Gyro also delivers beer and cigarettes to locals (in Kent) seven days a week until 1am

Wacky Wednesdays mean customers can get a large, 1-item pizza for just $5 (pick up only) and every Friday is Fiesta Friday, featuring $2 Margaritas and appetizer specials.

I've been a frequent customer to this place and it seems to get the better customer service, you really have to walk in and place your order rather than chance on calling. It is in that way that you can tell right away if your order was screwed up or not. Overall, the menu selection is decent. It is one of the cheaper places to drink in town. $4.50 for a shot of Patron.

But the one thing that really takes away from this place is letting underage bands play, after all, yes it is a restaurant, but it is also a bar. The place isn't really set up to have a band and those that do play tend to play so loud you can't have a conversation.

Another thing is attitude. Everyone that works there could improve their attitude a touch, but I think it is all because of the way the owner runs the place. If you don't get there before 2 or 3pm, you won't see the owner. If you have a gripe with the way the business is run, do make a trip up there when the owners are there, generally when the place opens, and they will normally listen to you.

The service is the worst in Kent, Ohio. On July 5th, 2012 around 5pm my girlfriend ordered a chicken salad and they delivered a chicken sub. No big deal. So I called them back to straighten it out and get the right thing, and the girl on the phone gives me total attitude, repeatedly calling me hon all condescendingly, telling me I was wrong and that we ordered a sub, even though some reason they included salad dressing. I asked for the manager, and he tells me I have to drive back (with the chicken sub), so that I can pick up the salad... even though we had it delivered. So I drive all the way there while the rest of our food gets cold (through roadwork, and construction), to walk in with the sub and get even more attitude from the girl behind the counter, telling me I have to wait for the salad, because they didn't know I was actually coming. I've been going there for years, and I've never been treated like that anywhere. I will NEVER go back to the Kent Euro Gyros again, and you shouldn't either, unless you enjoy being treated like a piece of garbage, after they screw up your order.
