5 Things to know about Adam Hamilton Memorial Cornhole Tournament

Annual fundraiser supports academic, sports scholarships

This Saturday the Kent VFW will hold the 3rd Annual Adam Hamilton Memorial Cornhole Tournament hosted by the Kent State Veterans Club.

Here are five things to know about the tournament should you want to go or compete:

  1. The tournament starts at 11 a.m.
  2. Cost to register is $50 per team and $20 for spectators to enjoy all you can eat and drink.
  3. You can register your team online.
  4. Proceeds benefit the Adam Hamilton Memorial Academic and Athletic Scholarship Fund, which each year awards scholarships to two Theodore Roosevelt High School students.
  5. Spc. Adam Hamilton died Memorial Day weekend in 2011 after sustaining injuries in a roadside bomb blast in Afghanistan. Hamilton was a star athlete at Kent Roosevelt, and the street outside the high school was dedicated in his memory in 2012.
