Hamilton's cousin Josh Collins, a member of the veterans club, said he thinks the tournament will help highlight Hamilton's service to the country and remind people of the influence he had.

"The reason we are doing this made me think of what the great Jackie Robinson said: 'A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives,'" Collins said.  "Adam lived his life by that mantra, and I think it is something that he has taught all of us."

Scott Hamilton, Adam’s father, agreed and said raising money for the scholarship fund is important because it’s a way for Adam to continue to reach out to others.

“It was an easy decision for us to give back to the community,” Scott said. “It’s just Adam.”
