Kent Mayor Honors Snow Shovelers

City gives awards to residents, businesses who kept their sidewalks clear of snow last winter

presented awards to some of Kent's more diligent snow shovelers this week to thank them for efforts last winter.

Fiala presented gifts on behalf of the city to Jeff Clapper and co-owner and bartender Matthew Guska and Devin McCallion. The men were nominated for their work through a posting in the Tree City Bulletin asking residents and business owners to nominate people who did an exceptional job clearing the city's sidewalks of snow and ice.

Fiala presented the awards during Wednesday's Kent City Council meeting.
