Knitting for Those in Need 12 Hour Knit-a-thon

Volunteers needed to participate in the spring,
Knitting for Those in Need (KTN) 12 Hour Knit-a-thon, Friday, March 9, on the KSU Library’s “Fab Fourth” (4th floor lounge) 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Everyone is welcome including non-knitters and knitters, students, staff, faculty, and community!

Knitting for Those in Need, KSU student organization, is dedicated to warm heads, warm necks and warm hearts for people in need.

KTN knits items including hats and scarves for local homeless shelters, social service organizations, as well as additional needs in the city of Kent and on campus.

Yarn and tools are provided however yarn donations are especially welcome.  We will provide simple instructions to knit a hat on a hand-held loom. It takes no more than 15 minutes to learn and in approximately 3 hours the hat can be finished.  Instructions to make scarves and blanket squares are also available. We welcome needle knitting, crochet knitting and loom knitting.

Our goal is to make 120 items (average of ten per hour) during our knit-a-thon. Feel free to come when you can and leave when you need.

No need to pre-register, just show up and sign in.

Food is provided for participants. Flashperk event.
