Kent Woman Saved by 'Angel' Swimmers on North Carolina Vacation

Two beach-goers died in a strong rip current in North Carolina last week. A Kent woman was among the survivors because of four boys who rescued some swimmers.

Four men at Sunset Beach in North Carolina are to thank for pulling Nancy Plymale of Kent out of a potentially deadly and strong rip current on July 3.

The boys were able to pull four people out of the water, but two swimmers died, according to the StarNewsOnline.com

"My family is just so very impressed with these young men,” Plymale, 65 said in the Star News story while posing with two of the boys who saved her life. “I, too, was a near-drowning victim ... (but) four angels, disguised as football players swam me to shore.”

After the boys pulled Plymale to shore, her husband, Jay, helped pull a 55-year-old tourist to shore. She was one of the swimmers who died from drowning, despite the boys' CPR efforts.
