Junior Mothers Host Successful Safety School

Yearly school introduces Kent children to kindergarten

More than 70 incoming kindergarten students at Kent City Schools took part in this year's Kent Junior Mothers Safety School introduction to grade school.

During the week-long course a number of community speakers volunteered their time to teach the kids about fire safety, bus safety, personal body safety, gun safety, railroad safety, bullying, water safety, poison safety and more.

The Junior Mothers have been organizing safety school in Kent for more than 30 years. The group welcomes new members. Anyone interested in joining can contact Barb Barkley, membership chair, via email at bbarkle1@kent.edu or you can "Like" the group on Facebook.
