Crooked River Adventures Announces Opening Date

It's official — Kent's livery will open in a few weeks on Cuyahoga River Day.

Crooked River Adventures announced on its Facebook page recently that it will open for the season on Saturday May 18 — which is coincidentally Cuyahoga River Day

"Once we open for the season, we will open at 7:30 a.m., but we won’t be open in Fridays until Memorial Day weekend," said Kent State University's outdoor adventure coordinator David Herpy.

Here's a little bit of information on Cuyahoga River Day:

The 23rd annual River Day celebrates the comeback river — the Cuyahoga. With the improvement of water quality, the economic promise of the river is being realized everywhere along its 100-mile course. On the lower river, Rivergate transforms the navigation channel into a recreational hub. Crooked River Adventures begins its third profitable year as a canoe livery in Kent. The City of Cuyahoga Falls looks to the river to increase its appeal as a tourist destination. So get to know your river, choose an event, come out and share the progress.
