Kent Girls' Soccer in Four-Way Tie for PTC Title
Kent ties Field 1-1 in Brimfield Tuesday night during championship game
The Kent Roosevelt Girls' Soccer Team knew the only way to the Portage Trail Conference title was a win against the Field Falcons on their own turf Tuesday night.
Field's Sarah Francis scored in the first half, and then Kent's Justina Fortson responded with her own goal with 10 minutes left in the game.
Kent held Field after Fortson's score. But it wasn't enough.

Tuesday’s game leaves the Rough Riders with a PTC record of 3-0-3, which places the girls in a four-way tie for the PTC title with Field, Norton and Coventry, said Coach Leslie Neice. Kent's overall regular-season record of 6-5-4 compares to Field’s season record of 8-4-3, according to Coach Chris Lemmo.
The Kent girls' team played just before the boys' battle, also against Field, for the PTC title. The boys shut out Field with a score of 4-0. Both Kent teams and both Field teams wore pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
