T-Shirts Support Roosevelt Senior Battling Cancer

All proceeds benefit Ryan Anderson

Members of showed support for senior Ryan Anderson at Wednesday's meeting by donning T-shirts as part of a fundraiser for Anderson.

The former starting guard for Kent Roosevelt's football team is battling bone cancer, and the T-shirts are part of a fundraiser between sports boosters for Theodore Roosevelt and Ravenna High School.

"(Next) week is the big rivalry between Roosevelt and Ravenna, and both schools have had a fundraiser to wear the shirts," Councilman Garret Ferrara said. "And the idea is to create a white-out in the stadium to show everyone’s support for Ryan. And it’s a nice gesture, and I thought it’d be nice if council showed the support."
