Kent Roosevelt boys' soccer dominates in its fifth season game

Kent Roosevelt boys' soccer team dominated the field in its fifth season game with a shutout score of 10-0 against the Rockets at Streetsboro's Glinatsis Stadium Tuesday night.

Kent scored its first six goals in the first 24 minutes of the game, winning a seventh goal to make the score 7-0 at halftime. The Kent squad scored three additional goals in the second half, to take the team to a no-loss record for the year of 2-0-3.

Kent attacking midfielder, sophomore Michael Beckwith (20), scored in the first three minutes of the game and was quickly followed by sophomore forward Logan Schmucker (11), who assisted a Streetsboro own goal and then followed with a goal off an assist by junior defender Dean Habeeb (5).

Sophomore defender Cory Shimensky (22) followed in a corner kick for the game's fourth goal, while Kent senior forward Olumhense Kkuenobe (10) dribbled the ball to the net for a fifth goal. Habeeb brought a sixth goal, while Kent junior forward Brennan Beyner (1) kicked in the first half's seventh goal.

Kent junior forward Ethan Long (3) made the second half's first goal, followed by junior defender Coletun Long (19) and Beyner, off an assist from Shimensky.

Kent's no-loss record for the year includes wins against Ravenna and Streetsboro and ties with Green, Revere and Western Reserve. Kent's next games are Thursday against Lake and Saturday against Hobin. Both games are at home at 7 p.m.
