Kent's Keely Leising and Katie Quinn nearly helped their teammates on Everest Soccer Club win the Ohio North State Cup Championship recently.
But the team fell to 2-0 in a hard-fought match to AFC, the Midwest's top ranked girls team.

An even game after 50 minutes, AFC finally broke through on a goal from Sarah Krause (Parma). Everest, then pushing players forward, looked for the equalizer.

The tactic nearly resulted in a goal, but resulted in a breakaway goal by AFC in the final 90 seconds, again netted by Krause.
Just before AFC's second goal, Kent's Keeley Leising nearly evened the contest by lifting a cross to the head of another Kent girl, Katie Quinn. Quinn struck the ball well, but just could not get it past AFC's keeper, Lauren DeMarchi of Hudson, who made a brilliant diving save.
