Portage Cyclery Kent Lion's Festival Ride

The Portage Cyclery is sponsoring the upcoming Kent Lion’s Festival Ride on Sunday, August 5th. There will be a 35 mile road ride or a trail ride which is on the Portage Hike & Bike Trail and totals 13 miles with an optional or additional 4 mile route. Helmets are required for all. The ride will begin at 10 a.m. The start and end point will be at Beckwith’s Orchards 1617 Lake Rockwell Rd, Kent, OH 44240

            After the ride, stay to enjoy the festivities of the Kent Lions Sweet Corn Festival in conjunction with Beckwith's Orchard! Both rides will leave at the trailhead next to Beckwith's Orchards at 10 a.m. and finish back at the orchard. The Sweet Corn Festival runs from noon till 5 p.m., offering Pochedley’s Sweet Corn, Sausage and Hot Dogs, Peach and Apple Pie, Ice Cream, Soft Drinks, and Water. There will also be trolley rides, live entertainment, and family fun. Family fun includes: Raffle, Obstacle Course, Face Painting, and Contests.

            Portage Cyclery will have free swag and giveaways for all those attending the ride!

    The ride is completely free of charge. We will be accepting donations for the Portage Park District through the online registration and on the day of the event inside of Beckwith’s Orchards. We will also have a booth set up the day before on August 4th at the Black Squirrel Adventure Triathlon in Kent, Ohio. Information on the triathlon can be found at http://www.kentparksandrec.com.
