VIDEO: Franklin School Gets Paint Job

200 gallons of paint from Glidden Colorful Classrooms contest applied this week

When students at Franklin Elementary School return from winter break they're going to see a lot more color in their daily school routine.

Volunteers started painting the interior of the school this week with 200 gallons of free paint donated by Glidden Paint after the school finished third in the company's Colorful Classrooms Contest.

Missie Hilton, whose son attends Franklin, works at the Home Depot in Streetsboro and helped the store bring in volunteers to paint the school's gymnasium.

Franklin Elementary Principal Todd Poole said the school will be painted over the course of several months during breaks from classes with help from volunteers.

The gymnasium and hallway should be finished in time for classes to resume Monday following winter break, Poole said.
