'FaceWash' App Developed by Kent State Students Rids Page of Unwanted Content

3 Kent State students develop app to remove obscenities, other unwanted material from personal Facebook accounts

For some Facebook users, a new app developed by three students at Kent State University may be a godsend.

Students Daniel Gur, Camden Fullmer and David Steinberg created a new app called "FaceWash," which is designed to help Facebook users clear their personal pages of vulgar, obscene and other generally unwanted content.

The app works by searching photo captions, wall posts and other content for key words and then highlighting those posts so the user can remove them, KentWired reports.

Steinberg told ABC News the students developed the app to give people control over what potential employers may see while researching job applicants online.

The new app also was featured on Mashable.
