Thanks for help with the Historic Wells-Sherman House

Gratitude for help with the Historic Wells-Sherman House

The Friends of the Kent Wells Sherman House would like to thank the administration of Kent State University for its generous offer of $40,000 to move this historic home to a new location. We are currently looking at several potential sites where this house might be moved to its new home and would also like to thank the Kent Historical Society for its help as well as the City of Kent for everything... they have done so far to assist us. We are hopeful that a permanent new site for this historic home will be identified soon and that once the house is moved, work can then get underway to restore the house for future use that we are hopeful will benefit both the City and the University. We are hard at work planning for the adaptive reuse of this historic home that will suit its long and rich history in our town and pay tribute to those who inhabited this home over its 150+ year life as well as being a place that will point the way forward toward the future. We are optimistic that the Historic Kent Wells Sherman House will be preserved and that its history and inhabitants will no longer be forgotten but will be remembered for the many contributions that they made to the City of Kent. Thank you to everyone who has so far played a part toward helping us to achieve this goal.
