Video: Fairchild Avenue Bridge Deck Poured

Concrete trucks lined up to pour the new roadway for the Fairchild Avenue Bridge

The roadway on the Fairchild Avenue bridge is beginning to take shape after 56 cement trucks started pouring the concrete deck today.

The construction is expcted to take around 10 hours today to pour 560 cubic yards of concrete for the wide road deck.

Beaver Excavating, along with the Ohio Department of Transportation, is managing the project for the city. Beaver Excavating's Asstistant Project Manager Brittany Amy said a lot of effort goes into such a monumental concrete pour.

"Challenges of a big project like this is getting crews together and laying out all of the elements that go together for laying a bridge deck," Amy said.

Traffic from the construction should end right before rush hour and police are at the scene to help direct traffic.
