Site Plan for Edwards Communities Apartments Goes to Planning Commission

Site plan, if approved, is last major hurdle for construction of 596-bed student apartment complex

The Columbus developer planning to build a 596-bed student apartment complex in Kent faces its last major public hurdle tonight.

Edwards Communities Development Co. takes its site plan for the project off South Lincoln Street to the Kent Planning Commission at 7 p.m. tonight.

The company is planning to build nine, three-story buildings for a total of 246 rental units plus a cluhouse and pool on about 10 acres on the east side of South Lincoln Street. On the west side, the company plans to build seven cottage-style rental units.
