POLL: Should a Student Serve on Kent Council?
Members of the Undergraduate Student Government at Kent State are lobbying for an upcoming appointment
Kent City Council — Kent's top-ranking governmental body — has an upcoming vacancy to fill with the departure of at-large representative Erik Valenta.
Valenta is planning to leave council by the end of January to move to North Carolina with his wife, who accepted a medical position there. His departure from council in the middle of his term means the remaining council members can appoint a replacement to finish out his four-year term.
Students at Kent State University want to to the position.
