Due to Ohio's recent redistricting, State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) is running her first re-election campaign in Ohio House District 75 instead of the District 68 seat she was elected to.

Redistricting has Portage County divided into Ohio House Districts 75 and 76.

Kent is part of District 75, which also includes Atwater, Brady Lake, Brimfield, Charlestown, Deerfield, Edinburg, Franklin Township, Mogadore, Palmyra, Paris, Randolph, Ravenna City and Township, Rootstown, Streetsboro, Suffield, Sugar Bush Knolls and Tallmadge.

Clyde and Skeriotis will face off in the Nov. 6 general election for the two-year District 75 term that starts Jan. 1, 2013.

The 75th district is part of the 18th senatorial district in Ohio, which is also up for election this year.

Tim Grendell was the senator for that district, but he gave up the position when he was appointed judge of the Geauga County Juvenile Court. John Eklund was appointed to finish Grendell's term.

State Sen. John Eklund (R-Munson Township) is running unopposed in the Republican primary.

He will face Democrat Jim Mueller, a Russell Township trustee who is also running unopposed in the primary, this November.
