Groundbreaking Today for Downtown Redevelopment

Event starts at 9 a.m. at corner of Erie, South Water streets

This morning, the city and its development partner Fairmount Properties will break ground on their part of downtown Kent's revival.

The groundbreaking starts construction for the 185,000-square-foot, mixed-use portion of downtown Kent's estimated $100 million-plus downtown redevelopment efforts.

Speakers will include Kent Mayor Jerry Fiala; Randy Ruttenberg, of Fairmount Properties; President Lester Lefton; and Dave Ruller.

Members of the public are invited to attend the event, which will take place at the corner of Erie and South Water streets at 9 a.m.
