Court Decision Pending in Wells Sherman House Case

Final briefs filed by attorneys this week; magistrate's ruling pending

A court decision may be near in the case involving an appeal to stop the relocation of the historic Kent Wells Sherman House.

Attorneys for three of the parties in the case, Save the Standing Rock Garden, Kent Wells Sherman House, Inc., and the city of Kent, all filed final briefs in the case Tuesday with Portage County magistrate Kent Graham.

Kent attorney John Plough, representing the Standing Rock garden group that's trying to stop the relocation, filed an 11-page brief. The city of Kent filed a 28-page final brief, and the attorney for the Kent Wells Sherman House group filed a four-page final statement.
