Baker's Towing Postpones Zoning Board Decision

Attorney for towing company asks for delay until August

Supporters and opponents of a towing company's plans to relocate on Lake Street must wait yet another month to learn the fate of its request.

Thomas Reitz, the attorney for Baker's Towing & Auto Repair, requested and received a postponement of the Kent Board of Zoning Appeals decision on the company's request for a substitution of a non-conforming use certificate, which would allow his business to relocate to a piece of property zoned R-3 for residential use at 634 Lake St.

The zoning board will discuss the issue and vote on the request at its Aug. 20 meeting.
