Woman Suspected of Drug Distribution in Kent Arrested

Five-month drug task force probe results in arrest of Etta Mae Wilson of Brady Lake.

A Brady Lake woman suspected of distributing drugs in Kent and other nearby towns has been arrested by the Portage County Drug Task Force and charged with cocaine trafficking.

On July 12 task force agents arrested Etta Mae Wilson, 42, of 6385 Westshore Drive in Brady Lake, along with Paris Darnell Miller, 21, of Akron, and charged them with trafficking in cocaine with a juvenile present, a fourth-degree felony, according to Portage County Sheriff David W. Doak.

The arrest took place at Mill and Romito streets in Ravenna. Doak said in a press release that Wilson was in possession of heroin, cocaine and prescription drugs at the time of her arrest. Miller had an outstanding warrant for violating his probation from a prior burglary charge out of Summit County.

He said task force agents believe through their investigation that Wilson is responsible for bringing these drugs into Portage County from outlying areas and distributing them in the Kent, Ravenna and Streetsboro areas.

Task force agents will present additional evidence to the Portage County grand jury seeking additional charges.

The Portage County Drug Task Force is made up of agents from the Aurora, Brimfield, Garrettsville, Kent, Ravenna, Streetsboro and Windham police departments, the sheriff’s office and the county prosecutor’s office.
