Kent police investigating domestic violence incident

Kent police are investigating a domestic incident that turned sour this morning when a woman shot a man in the leg.

Kent Police Lt. Paul Canfield said a woman shot a man in the leg just before 10 a.m. this morning in a house on South Francis Street.

"He eventually transported himself to St. Thomas but was later transferred to Akron City Hospital,” Canfield said.

The man's condition is unknown.

Police are not releasing the names of the man and woman involved because no charges have been filed and they are "uncharged suspects" at this time, Canfield said.

Canfield said charges may be filed later today or Wednesday.

The shooting happened at 464 S. Francis St. The house is owned by Pamela D. West, according to the Portage County Auditor's Office property records.
