Two Randolph Township teenagers were arrested and charged with burglary related felonies in connection to a Feb. 14 argument at a Lake Street apartment.

When police arrived, Canfield said, they discovered the door to the apartment where the disturbance occurred had been forced open and there were several people inside, all age 19.
“After further investigation, we determined there was an argument involving the occupants and (the two suspects) regarding debt related to possible illicit drug use,” Canfield said.

The suspects had fled by the time police arrived, so warrants were issued for their arrests. Barefoot was arrested at 3:34 p.m. Feb. 16 in Kent, while Cunningham was arrested at 2:49 p.m. Feb. 16 in Mogadore.
According to Portage County Court online records, Barefoot entered a guilty plea Friday morning in to a reduced charge of aggravated trespassing.
He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended. He was ordered to pay a $200 fine, make restitution for the apartment door, complete substance abuse counseling, serve one year of probation and have no contact with his victim.
Cunningham’s preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. March 2 in Kent Municipal Court.
